La maggior parte dei computer elabora le informazioni usando il codice binario. Anche noi a scuola ci siamo cimentati nella scrittura binaria. Dapprima abbiamo convertito tutto l'alfabeto italiano usando il codice e successivamente abbiamo scritto il nostro nome. Ci siamo anche cimentati nella conversione binaria dei numeri usando sia la linea dei numeri che il sistema della scomposizione.<br />

In questo periodo ci siamo occupati di programmazione grafica. La maestra creava una rappresentazione grafica, ad es. una scacchiera, alla lavagna e noi dovevamo scrivere dapprima l'<b>algoritmo</b> e successivamente il <b>programma</b>. L'attività ci ha permesso di comprendere bene che cos'è un algoritmo e partendo da questo, una volta codificato, che cos'è un programma e che cosa significa programmare.<br />
L'obiettivo di questo percorso è stato quello di rendere capace ogni alunno di creare un programma grafico e dettare le istruzioni ad un compagno affinchè potesse realizzare un disegno senza vedere l' originale ma solo seguendo le istruzioni.<br />

Abbiamo provato a scrivere le istruzioni usando come <b>codice</b> le frecce direzionali. Il computer, infatti, non usa la nostra lingua ma un proprio <b>codice. </b>La parola<b> coding </b>deriva dall'uso del codice. Affinchè il programmatore dia istruzioni alla macchina occorre che usi un codice comprensibile alla macchina.</div>

La maestra ci ha divisi in due gruppi: i robot ed i programmatori. I programmatori dovevano dare istruzioni ai robot affinchè si muovessero secondo un ordine ben preciso:<br />
1. Braccia distese lungo i fianchi<br />
2. Braccia distese in avanti all’altezza delle spalle<br />
3. Braccia distese in alto<br />
4. Braccio sx abbassato<br />
5. Salutare con la mano destra<br />

Abbiamo capito che la parola <b>coding</b> significa " codificare, programmare" ed in informatica si intende la stesura di un programma, cioè la scrittura di una sequenza di istruzioni che vengono impartite ad una macchina affinchè compia determinate operazioni.</div>

Il <b>programmatore</b> è colui che scrive il programma, cioè dà le istruzioni alla macchina.</div>

Durante lo svolgimento dell'attività ci siamo resi conto che è importante che il programmatore usi un linguaggio chiaro e preciso e che questo sia comprensibile al robot. Quando questo non succedeva il robot sbagliava nell'eseguire i movimenti ed occorreva ricominciare daccapo. </div>
